Youth Advisory Council
Youth
Community Connections has joined with the Minnesota Alliance With Youth
to host a joint statewide Youth Advisory Council!
Minnesota’s Youth Advisory Council (MNYAC) recruits partner organizations
that have significant and sustained contact with young people in their
local communities. Each partner organization identifies high school aged
youth representatives to serve on the statewide youth council. MNYAC seeks
to recruit a diverse cross section of organizations and youth from across
the state.
MNYAC provides youth representatives with a forum to come together and
exercise their voice by discussing policy issues while advising the work
of Youth Community Connections (YCC), the Minnesota Alliance With Youth
(The Alliance), and our partners. By engaging young people, MNYAC works
to empower them to learn, develop and transform their communities and
our state.
Youth representatives will gain skills in leadership and civic engagement.
They will provide valuable advice and youth perspectives on the work of
our organizations, participate in committee meetings and events, and create
or participate in local and statewide efforts addressing issues important
to young people.
